Easy Layered Salsa Cream Cheese Spread

Easy Layered Salsa Cream Cheese Spread
Easy layered salsa cream cheese spread is a simple, crowd-pleasing appetizer that comes together in minutes. Cream cheese is blended with a little mayonnaise for a smooth, spreadable base, then layered in a bowl with chunky salsa and a generous sprinkle of finely shredded cheese. The layers are repeated for twice the creamy, tangy, cheesy goodness, and served in a clear bowl, they make a beautiful presentation. Every scoop brings a creamy, cheesy bite with just a little zip from the salsa. Serve it with crackers or tortilla chips for an effortless snack that’s perfect for game days, holiday parties, potlucks, and last-minute guests.
Equipment
- Flat-bottomed serving bowl
- Mixing bowl
Ingredients
- 8 oz cream cheese softened
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 3/4-1 cup chunky salsa
- 3/4-1 cup finely shredded cheese blend
- crackers for serving
Instructions
- Mix the cream cheese and mayonnaise. Spread about 1/3 of it in the bottom of a flat-bottomed serving bowl.
- Top with half of the chunky salsa, then about half of the finely shredded cheese blend.
- Create the second layer by spreading the remaining cream cheese spread on top of the finely shredded cheese. Top with the remaining salsa. Finish with the remaining finely shredded cheese
- Cover and chill until needed. Serve with assorted crackers.
Notes
Easier Layering: Using 1/3 of the cream cheese spread in the first layer makes it easier to spread the remaining cream cheese in the second layer.
Substitute: One can of Rotel tomatoes can be used in place of the salsa. Drain most of the liquid before layering.
